Statement of Faith

About God

God is the Creator, the Father of all things and, the answer for all things. Genesis 1 tells us that God created all things.  All the universe has been created by God and was spoke into existence by His Word. We, as His creations must honor and obey our creator.  Our lives are to follow His rules and ways.  He gave us all we need to follow Him in the way of righteousness.  We are to help all those who are looking to believe that God is the Father of all creation. John 3:16 tells us that God (the Father) gave us a way to be with Him forever.  That is through His Son, Jesus the Christ. Matthew 23:9 says that we have one Father and that is God in heaven. Luke 12:32 lets us know that God the creator/Father wants all of us to have good things and provide for us. John 14:2 gives us the knowledge and foretelling of what is ahead for us after this world.  We have a place in heaven if we will have faith in God’s Son. Our church and all churches have to be taught that God is above all, knows all and will provide for us today, tomorrow and for all eternity as a believer in His Son.

About Jesus

Jesus is the Son of God and came to this earth as the sacrificial lamb that was needed to once and for all take away the sins of all who will believe in faith, on Him. Jesus was sinless (1 John 3:5, 2 Cor. 5:21).  Jesus was the Son of God (Matt 16:15-27, Matt 3:16).  Jesus was born in a miraculous way.  Born of a virgin (Matt 1:18-25), provided miracles and ministry (throughout the Gospels), was crucified on a cross for our sins (Isaiah 53:1-12, the Gospels, Romans 6:6), resurrected to the Father (Luke 24, 1 Peter 1:3), our salvation (Romans 10:9, John 14:6) and is coming back again for Judgement upon all on the earth and to save those who ‘eagerly await Him’(Rev 22:12, Hebrews 9:28).

About the Holy Spirit

When Jesus was taken up through the resurrection, He had promised a comforter and helper (John 14:26), that would reside in us (1 Cor 16:19), an intercessor for our prayers (Romans 8:26), He reminds us of all that Jesus taught us (John 14:26), gives us power (Acts 1:8),  and provides us the ability to nurture spiritual fruit in our lives (Gal 5:22-23)

About the Trinity

God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit exists as a triune God. Three distinct persons but one entity. (Matt 28:19, Isaiah 48:16, John 14:26, Matt 3:16-17)

About The Bible

The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (2 Timothy 3:15-17).  Also, the bible is Living and Active (Hebrews 4:12), Lamp to our path (Psalm 119:105), enabler of our faith (Romans 10:17), Eternal (Mark 13:31), Breathed out by God (2 Tim 3:16) and is infallible (Hebrews 4:12-14).

About Sin and Salvation

I believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan.  Everyone has sinned and needs salvation (Rom 3:23). Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Eph 2:8-9). Only through God’s saving grace and work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled, and renewed. (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)

About Humanity

All people have a choice in Christ.  We can either be of the world (1 John 2:15-18) or choose to follow Jesus.  Knowledge is about knowing who Jesus is but faith is taking that knowledge and using it to follow the teachings of Jesus and believing so much that we want to do the works of Jesus (Col 3:23).  We have the choice of salvation through Jesus because He has become the door (John 10:9) and has replaced the veil (Exodus 26:33) that was the wall that stood between us and God (2 Cor 3:16).  The ultimate end to our time on this earthly plane is through death (Ecc 12:7) and then each person will be judged on faith alone (Heb 9:27).  Each person will be judged by God (Acts 17:31) and our eternity will either be in Hell or Heaven (Matt 7:2, Matt 25:41, Mark 16:16).

About Forgiveness

Forgiveness is required for us to enter heaven (Matt 6:15, Acts 13:38-39).  Because of sin we need forgiveness from God (1 John 1:9-10).  We are also to forgive others (Eph 4:32, Matt 6:15). Forgiveness is the extension of Grace that is given to us by God so that we may show it to others.

About the Gospel

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial) and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4)

About Christian Living

As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God with joy in our hearts. The gifts of the Holy Spirit, including healing, are for the church today.  (Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10)

About the Church

As we have buildings that we can come into to worship, that is not the church.  The church as the Body of Christ, the People of God and the Bride of Christ. Christ is the head of the church (Ephesians 1:10; 4:15) and Christians are the body. God says of the church, “I will be their God, and they will be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16; Hebrews 8:10 NIV). The church is also referred to as the Bride of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:32; Revelation 19:7; 21:9), as our relationship with Christ is a relationship with Him as He states a husband and wife relationship should be. (2 Cor 11:2, Rev 19:6-9)

About the Future

Jesus Christ is coming again for His church. The righteous will inherit eternal life and the unrighteous eternal death. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).  We will not know the time of His return but need to be ready (Matt 24:36, Matt 24:42-44).  He will return in power and great glory (Matt 24:30).  He will return bring all believers into His presence (1 Thes 4:16-17). But because of the wait for Jesus’ return, we must; make sure we are doing the works of God (2 Peter 3:10), Hold fast to our faith in Christ (Rev 3:11), maintain a prayer life to have strength from God to get through all the world has to throw at us (Luke 21:34-36), be aware of false teachers and prophets and antichrists in this world that we do not go astray (Matt 24:1-51) and never be ashamed of being a Christian belonging to Christ (Mark 8:38).
